• Juanita “Nita” Calamaio

  • Juanita (Nita) Calamaio peacefully passed away at her home in Hernando, MS on 15 October 2015. She was with her three sons, Craig, Robin, and Barry.

    Nita was born in Memphis, TN on September 16, 1929 and was always a Tennessean and young at heart. She married Robert Calamaio who predeceased her in 2010.

    Her joy involved travel, French language, watercolors, church, friends and family. She had degrees from Wichita State University in French and Art History. Nita was an artist and a member of art societies in Mississippi and Arkansas. Her work may still be seen in many homes, government, corporate, and private offices throughout the United States.

    Nita will be greatly missed by her family and friends for her loving support, faith and care. Her wonderful spirit will be celebrated at a graveside service at 11:00am Monday, October 19th at CedarVale Cemetery in Hot Springs Village. We will miss and love her always.
